A Heart Of Stone Kennels

American Pit Bull Terrier Breeder

Puppies are here! Titan X Cayenne They are ready to go now. 08/03/2015

The American pit bull was wildly popular between 1880 -1930's. Through out this period of popularity, the breed was able to retain its essential character.

When the American Pit Bull the "fad breed" again from 1983 until now. This breed was not so lucky many specimens have lost the physical and mental characteristics of the "True" American Pit Bull. This is due to "fad breeders" cashing in on producing dogs for the "fad market". Those breeders do not care about the breed just the $. That is a fact! ...Just look at all of the genetic problems this breed is carrying today, because of them.

Serious breeders will steward the breed through this unfortunate time, however it is shocking to realize that there is a whole new generation of young people who may never get the chance to see what a "True" American Pit Bull looks like, and yet these same people may consider themselves "pit bull breeders".

The goal of this kennel is to acquaint the younger generation with what a real "American pit bull" , has always been, what it is, and what serious breeders are doing to keep it that way!

About Us

We are working on improving the reputation of the American Pit Bull Terrier.  We are trying to disprove the media hype.  We believe the bad reputation of this wonderful breed should lie on the shoulders of the many irresponsible people who shouldn't have been lucky enough to own one of these loyal and loveable dogs.

We have been involved with this wonderful breed most of our lives. We have been breeding and showing the A.P.B.T. since 1996'.  Our dogs do well in the show ring, as working dogs, or just as obedient pets.  Our dogs temperaments are their greatest quality!

All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care possible.  We follow a very strict vaccination and d-worming program.  We strictly adhere to the UKC breeders' code of ethics.  We do not support or condone, and strictly discourage the use of the A.P.B.T. for any illegal purposes.  We also support the EBA.

All of our dogs and puppies are registered with the UKC, ADBA, and/or  OFRN registries.  When you purchase a dog or puppy from us you will receive a certificate of health, health contract, shot and d-worming record.  We guarantee all of our dogs and pups to be in excellent health when you receive them.  Our puppies are raised as family pets and are socialized with adults and children from birth.

We breed for "The Total Dog"   Agility, Conformation, Strength, Drive, and most of all TEMPERAMENT.

*Temperament:

We stress temperament first! NO matter how correct or driven
the dog is , if it is not true to its original nature as a sociable and people friendly dog it's
not a true ambassador of the breed. That being said a human aggressive pit bull should
not be bred!
*Structure:

Structure is equally as important to us and we strive to produce show quality dogs
with breed type, proper balance and movement. (Not all pups will be show quality.)
*Drive:
We realize the original purpose of the breed was for
fighting, bear/ bull baiting, boar hunting etc. Due to this breeds past ...these dogs'
possess a high prey drive. We DO NOT participate in these sports past or present.
